Places, location and photos
SunPeek uses your selected location and date to calculate the sun's direction and sunrise/sunset times on your device. With your permission, it uses your device location and compass for location selection and camera alignment. Address search and location names use Apple's map and geocoding services.
Your saved places, place names and attached photos are stored on your device. We do not send them, your coordinates or camera photos to RevenueCat. Camera access overlays the calculated sun path on your surroundings. With your permission, you can save an image to Photos; sharing uses the destinations you choose in the system share sheet. Device or photo backups may be managed separately by your Apple account settings.
Custom shadow preview
The Shadow layer previews the shadow of a shape and dimensions that you choose at a map point. The shadow uses the selected date/time and sun position, and is calculated on your device. Selecting Shadow does not send the map coordinates to a building or terrain data provider. Address search and location names continue to use Apple's map and geocoding services. The preview does not estimate surrounding buildings, terrain or actual sunlight at a property.
Purchases and paywall reporting
We use RevenueCat to validate your Pro purchase, restore access and understand how the payment screen performs. RevenueCat uses an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history and payment-screen interactions. Purchase processing also involves Apple's App Store. These services may process the app/store information needed to deliver purchases and reporting, such as product identifiers, storefront/currency and transaction status. SunPeek does not receive your payment card information from the App Store.
We do not require an account or supply RevenueCat with your name or email. Automatic device identifier collection in RevenueCat is disabled. If you installed SunPeek from an Apple Ads search ad, the app shares Apple's anonymous AdServices attribution token with RevenueCat so we can see which ad campaign led to an install or purchase. This does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) or App Tracking Transparency. We do not use purchase or paywall data for cross-app advertising tracking.
Product analytics
We use PostHog (EU cloud) to understand which features are used, where people get stuck and why the app crashes. Crash and error reports contain technical details only (error type, app and OS version). Events such as opening the camera, saving a place, changing a setting or viewing the payment screen are sent with an anonymous, randomly generated identifier, the app version, device model, OS version, language and region. We never send your coordinates, place names, photos, name or email, and we do not use this data for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Controls and retention
You can change location, camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings. You can delete saved places in the app; removing a place also removes its locally attached photo. Copies already saved to Photos, backups or a sharing destination are managed in those services. Removing local data does not refund or cancel a lifetime purchase. Use Restore Purchases to recover a valid Pro entitlement through the App Store.
Purchase records needed to validate and restore access are processed by Apple and RevenueCat according to their services' retention practices. Support requests
If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to include. We use this information to answer and resolve your request. Please avoid sending passwords, payment card details, verification codes or unnecessary personal information. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence, subject to any records we need to retain to meet legal obligations.
